User Ratings and Reviews

Bought it based on other reccomendations, prices and consumer reports giving good grades for other VTech product lines. Found teh phone easy to setup(my 10 year old did it!) Call clarity and range is good. had problems with my 5.8GHZ Panasonic connecting to my nase unit in the 2nd floor form the basement of the house. No such issues with tis unit. Several optiond of ring tones, Nice backlights. Only minor gripe i sthat - the basic buttons are a little differnt than other phones - my other ATT, Panasonic - handset speaker phone button is in the location of call “send” button - been activating tat often. No disturbance noted from microwave or Wi fi connections. Battery Life good, looks nice, palstic body does not feel as sturdy in hand as the panasonics though. You will not go wrong with this phone, features.

California Dreamin'

More surprises. Although they get the voice line and Internet from Comcast, they get their TV services via a satellite dish (DirecTV) on the roof. My son-in-law likes to watch football lots of football. Although Comcast offers the NFL Network, DirectTV rains down all the games, from wherever they are played, in real time. He can partition that big old 52 screen and watch several games at the same time. He can simultaneously record a couple of them on the DVR that comes with the DirecTV package. He can stop the action and review a play before a coach gets through cussing about it. He loves it! And he tells me that this vastly superior package of services costs about the same as Comcast's service.

At&t Ready For Tropical Storm Ida In Georgia

11/09/09

ATLANTA, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With Tropical Storm Ida approaching the central Gulf Coast and threatening Georgia with heavy rain and flooding, AT&T* today announced it stands ready with an arsenal of disaster response equipment and personnel for a quick response post-landfall. To help local consumers and businesses prepare, AT&T is also providing important communications tips for use before, during and after the storm.

AT&T has invested more than $500 million in its Network Disaster Response (NDR) organization, which includes more than 600 technology and equipment trailers that can be quickly deployed anywhere worldwide to respond to a disaster situation, such as a severe hurricane. AT&T invested $145 million in recovery and restoration efforts related to the 2008 hurricanes that included the opening of a third NDR equipment warehouse in the Southeast.

A critical element of AT&T’s efforts to maximize network reliability is its ability to swiftly respond when disaster strikes, made possible by extensive standard pre-season and pre-storm preparations. These include: ongoing readiness drills, topping off fuel at generators positioned at cell sites and switching centers, testing high-capacity back-up batteries, distributing additional extended battery life and portable generators, using natural gas in a portion of permanent generators to eliminate need for refueling, adding capacity to wireless network, and staging of additional emergency response equipment in strategic locations near the anticipated landfall area.
